Committee Member Role Description

Position:                     Indoor Club Captain

Responsible for:       In the main the role is to organise the indoor season games and training

Reportable to:           BGLHC committee

Appointment term:    2 years

Main Purpose:

To link with the indoor coaches and ensure that teams are appointed for the Scottish Hockey Union competitions and Midland Hockey Union competitions.

Key Duties include:

·         Speak to indoor coaches regarding selection for competitions on a weekly basis

·         Ascertain availability from all players

·         Confirm training times for all players, including fitness

·         Responsible for all equipment, i.e. balls, cones and bibs

·         Monitor our equipment and liaise with the Treasurer if any further hockey balls require to be purchased

·         Liaise with Club Secretary re booking of pitches for games or practices

·         Arrange opposition when required for teams

·         Attend committee meetings on a 6 weekly basis

·         Attend the AGM

·         Submit report to the AGM on an annual basis

·         Attend any Scottish Hockey Union or Midland Hockey Union meetings in relation to indoor hockey
